Soon to be bride, Daya,  was showered with love by family and friends with this Afro chic themed bridal shower.  The most memorable part of the shower was when the groom was asked to pick out his bride from a group of 4 young ladies, covered in khangas, an East African clothe.  In some Tanzanian culture, at least 4-7 young ladies are fully covered in khangas from head to toe, and the groom has to pass the test of finding his bride.  Failure to do so costs him more bride price to pay.  The groom typically bribes the bride's parents or siblings with either a sum of money or quantity of goods (e.g: goats, sheep, tobacco), and once satisfied, the family assists him in finding his actual bride.  In Brandon's first attempt, he picked out his aunt LOL.  He conveniently left his wallet downstairs but bribed the maid of honor with an "IOU" and eventually found his bride.

WHAT TO WEAR TO FALL FAMILY PORTRAIT SESSIONS

October 03, 2017

Say goodbye to the blue jean-white shirt outfits.  You do not have to match the entire family for your family portrait session.  A little versatility in the choice of outfits will bring more personality to your pictures and make your photos memorable!

THINGS TO CONSIDER:

1). Location:
What type of location did you suggest to your photographer, or what type of location did your photographer suggest to you?  Draw colors from your location and incorporate them to your outfits.

2). Color Palettes for Different Seasons:
Since we are talking specifically fall portrait sessions, consider Fall colors such as wine, mustard yellow, camel,  navy, light pink and olive.  Look at the color wheel and check which colors go well with each other.  Mustard yellow goes very well with soft greys.  If you are a family of 3, have one person wear tones of grey, the other person tones of light pink and last person a mustard yellow.

3).  Stay Away from Busy Patterns
Busy patterns like stripes,  extreme gingham patterns and floral patterns (like the one that resembles Grandma's old couch).  Trust me, you do not want to be a meme like Kim K (click here).

4).  Do Not Match.  Coordinate Your Outfits
Coordinate different colors of the wheel, instead of matching the entire family.   Pantone color reports the trends for the year.  This is this year's Fall 2017 color collection (click here)
